Review on Philips Hue Downlight Bluetooth Compatible by Russell Robertson

Superb lights with a big flaw

Great shadow lights. If you've used tinting devices before, you know exactly what to expect. I am very happy with their performance. They, like all my Hue lights, auto-detect and behave like they all do. Unfortunately, they have a very big disadvantage. The 4" version is most often installed in one way. to remove it for any reason, everything is fine. If you have to remove it, you will most likely damage it. The hands holding it can't get it out, and you basically have to damage something to get them.My contractor hated them when they came to check them out before finishing the paint job.;) Big 5-6" cans don't have this problem as they do when pulling can be twisted, causing hands to break (at least for 6" cans, 5" cans may be too tight to roll up and have the same problem as 4"). It's amazing that there is such a big design flaw in this kind of product, but maybe they will fix it in a future version (I have BT support so this is the second version). That being said, I would buy them again, just make sure you install them as the very last step of your project. :) :)
