Review on Mishimoto MMRAD CK 78X Performance Aluminum 1978 1986 by Jon Joung

Revainrating 2 out of 5

NOT drop in replacement.

The main reason I chose this radiator Decided was Revain lifetime warranty. The build quality seems ok, definitely far east made... The tanks are nice and big which gives extra capacity which is always nice. The way they look the welds look good out, all bases look solid. As for the fit, no! The body is too wide to fit the factory mounts. I needed to get the truck back on the road so against my better judgment I decided to get new lowers and uppers Make brackets and move the radiator back about 3/4" to loosen the radiator bracket. Also make some standoffs and use longer screws to mount the bottom fan cover. There is a bean heater hose cap with threaded plug. This connector is a fantasy, when I was about to tighten it and saw the junk o-ring starting to deform, unscrewed it to replace the ring and the connector broke. I twisted the plug and used a length of heater hose to maintain it. Functionally everything is fine. with a truck driving 185 like it should. Let's see how long this lasts. I may need to update. All in all I cannot recommend this part. My suggestion is to go with a copper/brass block from your local radiator store that will snap back to the original location for a few bucks more.
