I bought these because they were the only LED candles of this size I could find with a flickering appearance and an automatic timer. The automatic timer is very convenient, turn them on once after dark and you can forget about them later, they turn on automatically at the same time every day. The flickering is very realistic and subtle. Can't comment on the battery life, but that's a standard coin and should last a while, especially since it only lasts a few hours, not 24/7. The big problem is the color. Instead of the warm white color of a flame, they're a sickly yellow-green, like sodium fire. This is very noticeable when placed next to a real candle (see photo of them side by side in identical votive holders). It doesn't give the warm, cozy glow at all that I was hoping for and actually looked pretty creepy due to the color cast - if it was inexpensive I'd return it. However, I might use them in situations where color isn't that important or where spooky colors are appropriate, e.g. B. to safely illuminate carved Halloween pumpkins.
