LESS people! The description says 39 is 8, but I think that's too big. I think of my feet as 7 and 3/4 so I have a 38 they call 7 and they fit perfectly even with a little room for that size. I use them as slippers as I have tried two pairs of women's Haflinger slippers and while they are very comfortable they actually tear, flatten and warp after a year or two. I think slippers should last longer so I switched to them and wasn't disappointed. Of course I would love to wear them outside, but inside they are so perfect that I doubt it. They are sewn crookedly with a decorative ribbon on the edge. I sent them back for an exchange and even when I exchanged them I had the same problem. But the gray pair I bought first is stitched perfectly around the edge.
