I've had one of these for years and it was the best alarm clock I've ever had. However, Sangean has been quietly updating the watch, and while adding some useful features (like RDMS), removing some features I felt were important. . I discovered this when I recently ordered another RCR-3 but found it wasn't the same as the one I already had. to the right of the LCD. This information is no longer displayed in the new version.2) The old model allows you to set alarms for any combination of days. For example, you could create an alarm for Monday, Friday, and Saturday and a second alarm for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The new version is limited to all weekdays, weekends, daily and once. While the older version had some issues (I found the LED lights too bright and had trouble adjusting the alarm volume for the radio, for example), this was arguably the best alarm clock out there. The new version just makes it an expensive average alarm clock. By the way, Sangean decided to use the same model number for the new version. One result is that most of the reviews on this site are for the old version, not the new one.
