Well I received the product boxed and it was very well packed, the box had no external damage. Assuming everything was fine, I reassembled the piece and found in the last two steps that a rear corner of the tabletop had veneer damage. This was not the result of packaging or shipping as a dark espresso finish was applied to the damaged area. So the product was packaged and shipped with damage to the most visible surface, the top. The second problem was that the dowels used to cover and fill the bolt holes didn't fit through. One was too small and didn't stay in the hole (it fell out and was lost when the item was placed in the bedroom) and the other was too big and the outer surface was swollen, poorly finished and somehow disfigured.
