I used to be afraid of undercooking and then usually overcooked it. But since I bought this, my chicken and fish turn out perfectly every time and I no longer throw away food after cooking. It's very safe. The temperature is very easy to read and the numbers are large and clear. There is a backlight that is easily visible at night. It's way better than the old thermometer I used before. This thermometer also has a magnet and I just leave it on the front of the oven so it's always there when I need it. The heat-sensitive needle can be sharp, so be careful. Also remember to use oven mitts as the wire mesh and metal needle may be too hot to touch.
