Can't read keyboard

Good laptop except keyboard has gray letters on silver keys. Now who thought that was a good idea? Definitely not this customer. I contacted support who said the keyboard should be backlit, but it isn't. Went back and ordered a Dell so I can read the keyboard. I'm not even thinking of another HP as long as the keyboard is that color combo. It's sad that a good computer is slowed down in this way.
