I bought this to mount on a windshield post on a boat to hold the iPad Air 2 that I use for navigation. Replacing a cup holder mount that just didn't work in rough water. My first impression is very good. The clip has a rubber pad that securely holds the stand without scratching it, and the springs in the iPad holder are firm. The springs are set so that when you push the iPad up and down, they "float" instead of banging hard on the mount. Shaking the mount to simulate movement did not cause the iPad to fall out of the mount. My only concern is the articulation in which the iPad holder attaches to the clip. There's a narrow post that hopefully won't be a stress relief point. Only time will tell when I can get the boat back on the water in warmer weather. i am optimistic
