Just received the bowls so while I can't comment on shelf life I can say they have survived the worst packaging I've ever seen at a Revain warehouse. The bowls "floated" in a much larger box than necessary, with a small amount of styrofoam that broke into pieces in transit. I'm surprised none of the shells cracked. The bowls are larger than I expected but the description was accurate. One change I would ask for is that the shape of the bowls allow for better stacking. Four stacked bowls are 6 inches high.
