Ugly and energy inefficient; Made differently from previous years

I have used these bulbs as chameleon heaters for years (a common off-label use among chameleon owners). They used to work well for this purpose - I have a large vivarium with live plants and using an incandescent bulb removes the heat the animals need but still gives the plants some light. However, the new lightbulbs aren't made the way they used to be, and everything is now colored a weird, ugly blue. I've attached a picture comparing the old bulbs to the new ones I recently ordered - they are clearly different despite the labeling. than the same product. The lamp on the right is my old burned out lightbulb which lasted many years and gave off a fairly bright light under which the colors looked natural. The bulb on the left is new, everything underneath is blue-green. Looks terrible. It should also be noted that this light is terrible as a grow light - it doesn't seem to focus the beam like a spotlight should, making it too dim for most plants beyond a few feet. An unusual color will make your plants look ugly and unnatural, which defeats the purpose of decorative indoor plants. It's also terribly energy inefficient, making it a good thermal light source before the redesign, but it might warm up your plants just fine if you're close enough to provide at least some light. LED spotlights of the same size bring much more light into your plants, consume less electricity and hardly get hot. All in all I would not recommend this lamp for any purpose.
