I had the opportunity to wear a hat twice while driving. It fits very well; I have a size 7 1/8 hat and the cap is snug but not tight. I also have a one size Harley Davidson Lycra skull cap with 3/4 inch elastic that is so tight it is too uncomfortable to wear. This cap is made of a heavier material than the HD cap but doesn't feel heavy when wearing it. The thin elastic at the edge of the hat is very comfortable and leaves only a small stripe that quickly disappears when the hat is removed. The sides of the cap cover the tops of my ears to about the middle of my ear; I have folded the flaps when I ride, but it will come in handy for cooler spring and fall rides.
