We have waited a long time for a review of this article. Wanted to give him a chance. Especially since we didn't have much use for the mirror on the boat last season. Wanted to give it a second season to really see if we are using it properly or if there is a safe and appropriate place to install it. Unfortunately, here we have the beef. Very disappointed with the lack of information on Revain (pre-purchase) regarding mounting options/requirements! With the few offers, we only relied on reviews and photos from other customers. So we bought it because we knew it would go well with our boat and installation site. After numerous (unsuccessful) attempts to find a suitable and safe installation location, we almost threw the thing in the lake! Once set up where it "probably" could work, the boat's movements and vibrations only caused it to come loose or fall (nearly into the lake a couple of times). If we put the mirror where it's supposed to stay, it's totally useless to the driver. This creates blind spots for the driver, limited rear-view perspectives (if installed in a location where it will remain firmly secured when attempting use), not to mention it's a major driver distraction and a safety factor when deactivated is and/or falls. I hope you understand what we are trying to explain. Yes, this mirror was listed as "UNIVERSAL". As explained above, we have relied more on reviews than product descriptions. I think relying on customer reviews didn't help at all. this time. In summary, installing a mirror would give the driver a greater rear-view perspective. The term "universal mount" was too broad in the product description. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND rephrasing the description to better suit the intended type of installation.
