The thread exceeded my expectations when I received it. The ad on Revain lists 550 yard rolls but I have 1100 yard rolls that look like the pictures. At least one of the coils has burrs at the base, but I'll clean them up with a nail file. The ends of the thread coil slightly. I used this thread for two baseball caps and it worked great on my Brother SE-400. The colorfulness looks very nice when embroidered. I used one of the pre-programmed designs that come with a machine that only uses one color of thread. Nice way to add more color to a monochromatic design! Thread was also used in a design that uses brightly colored threads. The feather design is actually made up of four different colored strands. The design pairs them up even more and these threads are perfect for patterns I've found that use colorful threads. I turned my pattern into cat toys that two cats loved. I've been thinking seriously about which colorful yarn set to buy as they are all priced differently, have different numbers of spools and vary in size. I did all the math and honestly I didn't know why I would buy the largest set, although it seemed like a lot to me. I'm glad I bought these as the bobbins are twice the size advertised AND I don't have enough room to run the thread! I just need to keep the little box the threads were sent in. You don't need to buy another thread basket.
