Next to the living room I have a small room 12x7 feet. There was absolutely no wired lighting in the room. I got estimates from electricians to add lighting and it would have cost hundreds of dollars plus additional fees due to the lead paint (my house is 130 years old). This room is used quite seldom, so I didn't want to invest that much money in the lighting. These two domes are PERFECT for this space. I used the control strips to attach it to the false ceiling and then also used the control bar to attach the remote to the wall as a "light switch". The colors/fading options/etc. are convenience features, but not the features I will be using. There's nothing like saving hundreds of dollars and setting up the lighting in that room in minutes!
