I bought this for a project where I didn't want the paper to burn. I spray-painted half a sheet of construction paper, let it dry, and then lit the unpainted side. When the flame reached halfway through the spray paper, the flame itself stopped, but the paper continued to blacken as if still burning. Although I was impressed by how quickly and consistently it put out the flames, at the end of each experiment, a piece of paper was left that looked completely burned. For a safe product I'm sure this material is amazing. As I said, it put out the flame once it reached the line where I was spraying, so that probably stopped the fire from spreading to anything around the paper. However, for an art project I was working on, it just didn't meet my needs and I wish they would sell this stuff in a smaller spray can so I wouldn't lose close to $20.
