Review on ๐ŸŽ„ Twinkling National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation by David Cook

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite Christmas movie!

I bought this movie because Christmas Holidays is one of my favorite movies. He was always well known and often quoted in my family. I also collect games so it wasn't difficult when I saw that. Seems like a nice short game to play while waiting for dinner or just to get in the holiday spirit. QUALITY The cards are pretty standard. I love that they used maps to display some of the iconic scenes and quotes from the film, rather than just templates. Tiles are small but made from nice thick card. The box is very durable. COURSE OF THE GAME 1) Each player (2-4) receives three sample cards. Two with three pears and one with four pears. Your goal is to make this colored drawing on the board to get a card. Whoever has the most cards wins. 2) When it is your turn, take and place a tile. 3) If you have a card lying on the same continuous light thread on the board (like red, green, blue) in order. , you may pick up this card and place it face up in front of you. You must do this now as the tiles may change later! 4) Turns are repeated until someone has played all three cards of their test or all light tiles have been played. The winner is the one with the most patterned cards played. To throw multiple wrenches, tiles with a "+" sign can be placed on tiles already played. Broken wire tiles can also break someone's pattern. If you've drawn a broken wire tile, you can give it to your opponent and draw it again for extra fun. That opponent must then play it in place of a new tile on their next turn. Interesting mechanics, good game. Surprisingly difficult to keep track of twisting the wires and the order of the bulbs. I expected it to be a lot easier. Obviously, the difficulty increases with the number of players and can make a four-player game very short. This is not a game to be the focus of game night. It's more of a game of stripping yourself while waiting for pizza. I think they did a good job linking the movie with fun sample cards. I'm happy with that. Funny stocking.
