looks 6ft away, lives in the Bortle10 area, waiting for the moon to "set" at 3:30am. Viewing in Sagittarius, looking due south, 10 miles north of Charlotte. Went straight to the Lagoon Nebula. In the past I've tried a regular LPC (Light Pollution Filter) which helps. However, with LPC I could only see half of it. With UHC I could see both halves and a dark trail in the middle. A similar experience occurred with the Cygnus/Omega Nebula. Previously, only the swan's "body" was visible. Last night I could see the "head" and wisps of cloud from the tail. Until last night I couldn't see either the Trifid Nebula or the Eagle Nebula. Both were very faint and could make out very little detail. I have no comparison with other UHC filters. However, if you're on the same budget as me and can't afford to spend $100 on a filter, I think you'll love this filter. Very happy with the purchase and the details I could see.
