I thought it was "neat". I thought it would add extra comfort when driving long distances. I thought, dammit, if the racer has a back, shouldn't I (the pilot) have it too?! Well I installed it, adjusted the seat to my ride comfort (forward) after the first test drive and then rode it around on site for a while. I really enjoyed the experience, although I didn't get a chance to drive for a couple of hours to see if it would make a difference in long-distance comfort. This weekend I've had lower back pain every morning. I decided to bike to a conference just 40 minutes from my house. Despite having lower back discomfort, my back was IMMEDIATELY fully supported while cycling and the lower back discomfort was completely gone! As soon as I got off the bike, I felt lower back discomfort (pain) again. I just couldn't believe the relief and support this back gave me. When driving, I feel like I'm in the cockpit of a fighter jet. The whole driving experience is different. I have found that I need to make some adjustments/considerations to my driving style. For example, I pushed the steering wheel a little with a slight lead when driving straight ahead, which slightly influenced my handling in corners. By recognizing this, I was able to make a conscious/physical adjustment to how I was interacting with the steering wheel. I generally have much more control over the bike when riding. I no longer have to hold on to support myself during rapid acceleration. The backrest does all the support, allowing my hands to control the clutch, accelerator and steering more freely when accelerating. Final Thoughts; I love this addition/upgrade to my bike! I would never come back! It is a well-designed accessory, affordable and easy to install. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an immediate increase in ride comfort and support, as well as improved control of their bike in any circumstance/situation.
