I bought size 7 first because it is my son's size now. He turned 5 years old last year. When it arrived it was perfect! Fits him like a glove! But I returned it and ordered a size up so I could have more clothes in his suit. Size 8 still looks great on him, there is very little room to grow and I agree. He's my only son, so I won't have a younger son to put more clothes on. The material is neither cheap nor cheap. I bought this costume 3 months ago for Easter. My son looks so good in it and I got so many compliments from everyone. I will definitely be buying more in different colors for different occasions. If you hesitate I say don't worry about the price, it's definitely worth it. And you won't regret it! Also, in my prime, I had free returns and had no trouble going back and getting a different size.
