I am so proud of myself and so happy with this purchase. I have an old HP Laserjet 6P printer that only has a parallel port. I couldn't get my new Windows 10 PC (with a specially installed parallel printer port) to recognize the printer. I've been trying to download drivers, researching (Microsoft's website says HP 6P isn't compatible with Windows 10) for about two hours - nothing worked. My last ditch effort was to buy a Centronics USB adapter cable. I connected it to the printer. I plugged it into one of the USB ports on the back of my PC. I booted up the computer and the list of printers was "HP Laserjet 6P". No drivers required, no installation, no setup. That. Just. Is working. Although the cable is compatible with USB 2.0 (not 3.0), the printing speed is sufficient for my needs.
