This razor is truly one of a kind, I wouldn't expect anything less from the Vikings. What I like most about this "battleaxe" is the ability to customize the shaving process depending on what part of the face I'm shaving and how close I want to get to it. The adjustable dial is smooth and gives you complete control, you just have to be patient. I recommend starting with a very small blade clearance the first time, and then as you get used to it you can increase the aggressiveness and push a little more. It's like driving a new car: it takes a little time to develop a relationship and get used to it, but once you've done that you really do feel more in control than with any other DE razor, that I used. Another tip I want to reiterate is really don't put any pressure on it, the weight is enough to pull the razor on its own, just let it slide and take your time. If you are patient with this razor, you will be able to get the closest shave you will ever have.
