Review on ACDelco Gold 18A2450 Front Disc Brake Rotor in Sleek Black Hat by Corey Evans

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Didn't fit my 2011 base RAV4 (no 3rd place Canadian build VIN starts at 2)

These rims looked great, the fit calculator showed they fit and other reviews from the same year of my car was told they should work. Unfortunately, my RAV4 rotors don't have a wide center bore. On my rotors, the raised fin web is part of the rotor, not part of the mounting hub behind the rotor. To remove the rotor you must remove the center nut that attaches the driveshaft to the rotor. I've checked the rotor a few times by scraping both sides of the center ridge with a thin screwdriver hoping to find a rusty gap, but it's definitely a solid piece. The division should have been on the outside of the ridge. My rotors were just beginning to bulge out of the pad clamps (0.25mm) so I had to put the pads on immediately to avoid further damage. I used a professional set of ACDelco 17D1210CH ceramic front disc brake pads and they are quiet even when the rotors are not spinning. FYI, use a round wire brush mounted on a drill to clean the pad clamp area on the caliper. I'll definitely need new rotors from Toyota at double the price, which isn't bad for Toyota if I decide to change the driveshafts (92,000 miles now, "click" when spinning is negligible now ;-). So before you buy, just remove the tire and make sure you don't have any of those rotors built in. Returning the rotors was very easy and I didn't have to pay for two 28lb rotors to be shipped back. Wonderful! I only gave four stars for the ease of return but gave a deduction for the fit. Of course I wish I could use them.
