Assembly wasn't easy. The pictures are pretty clear but there are no written instructions to check what is in the pictures. My biggest problem was getting the shelves tight at the ends. I could barely tighten it enough and never got the bars flush with the shelf. My last struggle and annoyance was when I picked it up and it was crooked, very crooked. Now it's entirely possible that the floor in my townhouse is uneven. So this part is questionable. I was able to use cardboard and legs to make it as level as possible. This is a very nice shelf and I had very high expectations for it but given the difficulties I faced I probably wouldn't recommend this product.
