I know others have complained about this item, but I think it's MORE useful than the plastic mat things. Those don't even last one project, then, into the landfill goes MORE plastic, something that should end.The mat is filled with a heavy compression of felt itself, I believe. The surface does pick up some of the wool you're using, but it's very small, and came out easily.It's a good size. Purchased in November 2021. Thing is a massive case. Battery holds phone up for 4 DAYS. I forgot I set phone in case on top of van, went around a corner at 30mph. Case and phone hit the asphalt. Obviously case took a hard hit but looks to be in really decent shape, banged up on three corners, broke the frame, screen protector is smashed up on one corner. I bought my 1st 30 oz. from them 3 years ago and loved it. I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. Looked the same. The cap for hot liquids fit nice and snug. However the lid for cold liquids was not tight at all. In fact it was so loose that when I picked up the tumbler at an angle some water spilled out.
