Immediately upon receipt of this item I found that it was defective. The device did not charge and did not light up, indicating it was working. I've tried many batteries (I use an HT 1000 radio) and none of them worked. I contacted Empire and their customer service was fantastic. They replied within 48 hours and sent me a replacement. When I received the replacement, I found that the replacement was defective. I got a good charge from the device and now the red light is flashing randomly and in a way that indicates it's not working properly. I left several batteries in the device for several hours and they did not charge.
