These lamps easily replace the original lamps. Installation is as easy as removing old lightbulbs and installing new ones. You want to position the bulbs so that the LEDs are up and down, otherwise no further instructions are needed. Changing bulbs on my GMC Canyon probably took a total of 5 minutes per bulb. The effect of the bulbs is immediately noticeable, not only are they much brighter than the OEM bulbs, but they are also much whiter (in comparison, the light from the OEM bulbs is almost amber). I was concerned that the problem would be with the heater (I live near Phoenix, Arizona. We spend most of the summer in high temperatures of between 110 and 115 degrees) but so far I haven't had any problems with the bulbs. The best part is that there are no extra external parts. everything you need is included in the lamp unit. After replacing the low beam bulbs I was so pleased with the result that I replaced the high beam bulbs as well.
