During the warmer, sunny months I always have a lip balm handy, so I was excited to try this hemp lip balm. I've used hemp balm before so I knew a bit what to expect. However, this lipstick also contains some shea butter and peppermint (giving it a very slight cooling effect). It is easy to apply, does not shine and does not leave an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth. I understand that different lip balms work differently on people, but I like this one better than other brands I've tried. Give him a chance! (NOTE: As far as I can tell, it has no sunscreen properties.)
