Review on Enhanced Kenwood DMX4707S 6.8-inch Digital Media Touchscreen Receiver with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto by Jonathan Roloff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Top notch radio.

I bought another brand but ended up sending it back. Another brand of wire was about twice as thin as the Kenwood DMX4707S. The Kenwood wires from the stereo are labeled and the wires for the plugs are well documented in the manual making it easy to install. I installed this on a 2007 Dodge Durango SLT. This car had power and steering wheel controls from the factory. I had to remove the factory fitted plastic housings (6) of the screws and cut off about 3cm and then reinstall. I bought a Metra 95-6533B fitting kit that had a template to cut out the dash faceplate and it fitted perfectly. I also purchased the Maestro Rr Universal Car Radio Replacement Interface (ADs-MRR) and Maestro CH2 Wiring Harness (HRN-RR-CH2). This made the installation very easy. A few notes on installation.1. The Kenwood DMX4707S has a blue wire attached to the radio's rear power antenna. In my case it was used for amplifier power.2. If you have a factory amp, be sure to connect the black and white connectors together on the wiring harness.3. In order to be able to use the USB functions, the vehicle must indicate that it is in parking mode. There is a wire on the back of the radio that connects to the park switch. My car wiring harness didn't have this, and I didn't want to run a separate wire to this switch. You bypass this safety feature by cutting and stripping the wire. Then loosen one of the screws on the radio body, wrap the wire around the screw and screw it back in place.4. Apple Car Play and Android Auto require your phone to be connected with a USB cable.
