How to Complete the 10-Step Korean Beauty Ritual in 8 Steps or Less (product list in order)

I've recently started searching for all the beauty products needed for youthful, hydrated skin. always look popular on the eve of my wedding day in Korea. (Yes, I'm an American who watches a lot of drama and I'm very jealous of Gong Joon-hye's character in She Was Pretty.) I've had a fantastic experience with the new skincare regimen: significant reduction in blemishes. , acne almost completely eliminated! - I only have one or two during my period - has evened out my skin tone and my face is cleaner and softer overall. Since I had a hard time researching each step myself, I'll list all the winners and the order in which they are used in skincare/makeup. I hope this is helpful for anyone who wants to explore the world of Korean skincare but doesn't know where to start. **Denotes the product in Test.1. Cleanser - The Face Shop: Rice Water Bright** Apply to dry, unwashed skin and massage gently in circular motions to thoroughly cleanse face. Works as a makeup remover but I would recommend a different product for eye makeup removal. Wash off the oil with warm water. This is the perfect mild cleanser for sensitive mixed oily/dry skin like mine. It has a very faint odor of rice water. No wonder considering this is the case. A little is enough, so one pump is usually enough for the whole face. Be careful not to carry it sideways in your cosmetic bag when the pump is loose. I made the mistake of coating all of my other products with rice water purifier. ;) Oh, and the little plastic thing on the pump pops right out. It took me forever to understand that. I kept turning and screwing and finally figured out how to just push the little plastic piece out and then snap it back in place when I'd been through all night. :P2. Toner/Refresher - Etude House 10-in-1 House Wonder Pore Freshener Tightens pores and purifies skin. Apply to a cotton pad or cotton ball and then apply to face. Let dry.3. Moisturizer - Skin Food Peach Sake Emulsion Pretty obvious. Apply immediately after toner to moisturize your face. Serum - Skin Food Peach Sake Pore Serum A slightly more concentrated moisturizer to be applied after the first. Yes, as far as I know, Koreans have many steps (most of them moisturizing) in their body care routine. But it does amazing things for your skin. And once you get the hang of it, applying all of these products every night doesn't take much extra time. It also reduces my morning makeup because when my skin is naturally healthy, clear and soft, I'd rather show it than hide it. ;)5. Night Cream - Nature Republic Fresh Green TeaNOTE: This product is not sold on Revain. I had to buy it at a discount at my local Korean market because I was too scared to order anything over $10 which I wasn't sure about. But for the final step, you'll find plenty of night creams here. I recommend something with green tea or aloe. Simply apply to clean, well-groomed skin in the evening, massage in thoroughly and go to sleep! Other cosmetics/supplements I found useful/worth buying: Facial Scrub - Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Use twice a week for a deeper cleansing of the face than usual. Laundry detergent. Apply a little, gently exfoliate, leave on, rinse. If it's too thick, use some water or toner to help rub it in. CC Cream - Lioele Dollish CC Cera-VCC Creams are very similar to BB creams (not a cream that matches your skin tone but a clear foundation/primer) but based on my experience with two of the ones I've tried, CC - Creams provide more coverage and make skin appear brighter, whiter and more luminous, rather than just evening out skin tone and providing SPF. Apply before any foundation. Highlighter - Etude House Secret Beam Highlighter #1 Pink & White Mix. Apply with a brush over foundation on key points to further brighten the face. Goes on like pure pixie dust - a little glitter, but not like glitter. You know, this isn't for a masquerade ball in the maze. ;)Facial Mist - Innisfree Green Tea Mineral SprayFacial Mist can be applied anytime before or after makeup to keep your face moisturized and fresh throughout the day. I carry a bottle in my purse and squirt a little when I feel my face is tired. :) I haven't tried this spray yet because my order hasn't arrived yet, but I bought Nature Republic Bamboo Spray at a local Korean market and I really like it. :Face masks - they're a big hit in Korea and fun to wear at home to piss off family members who think you look creepy. But for me they are too sticky, drippy and overpriced. I prefer clay masks or avocado masks that need to be washed off afterwards. Expensive serums, essence, bee venom. I turned down anything over $20 a bottle. As I've found, you can get really great results with just the five things listed above, and none of them cost more than $15. Most of them are less than $10.
