I ordered this gel because it is water based not wax based. It fully meets those expectations. This is a styling gel that securely fixes the mustache throughout the day. In the evening I'm really scaly and it looks like I have dandruff on my mustache on my shirt. No big deal, it will fall off. It has a flavor as others have mentioned. I don't find it uncomfortable but if you use too much gel it can be strong. Why not five stars? Because it's a styling gel, not a wax. It says wax on the tube, but it's not. This is an extremely strong hold gel that tightens the mustache while the gel is active. Update: After using the wax and this gel for about six months I will say that there are definitely times when I want to use this gel. Wax. When I go camping on dusty trails, I need this mustache gel, not wax. The wax collected dust and dirt, and I grew a very coarse mustache. However, this gel does not collect dust and dirt. That's why I updated the star. I will end up buying it again because sometimes gel is better than wax.
