Review on High Performance Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor: Height Adjustable, 240Hz, Full HD 1920X1080P - AW2518Hf by Alfonso Vicente

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fast, elegant and crystal clear

1. Open the box: Remove the white (4 total) plastic latches on both sides of the box to remove the box from the monitor.2. Packing: Thick foam supports the monitor in the box very well. Inside is a box with cables and warranty information.3. Package Contents: Power cord (AC 100-240V 50/60Hz), HDMI 2.0 cable (1pc) and USB 3.0 cable (1pc). The Displayport cable must be purchased separately if you want to connect it this way. Speakers aren't built in, so buy them if you need them. Ports: DisplayPort 1.2 (x1), HDMI 2.0 ports (X2), USB 3.0 ports (X4 - one with fast charge), headphone jack and audio-out. A USB 3.0 cable must be connected to the back of the monitor and the computer to power the additional USB ports on the monitor. The monitor has an HDMI 2.0 (x2), Display Port 1.2 (x1), USB 3.0 (x4)5 connector. Base: quick and easy assembly without tools. The base easily slides into the back of the monitor. Cables can be routed through the base for tidy cable management.6. Enable 240Hz: (For Windows users) right click on the desktop > Display settings > Advanced display settings > Display adapter properties > Monitor (tab) > Screen refresh rate (drop down) > 240Hz. You don't get 240Hz, if your computer's graphics card does not support it. Always check the specifications of your graphics card before purchasing to ensure you are getting the best value and product. Graphics card: If you have an AMD FreeSync graphics card, you can synchronize the Alienware AW2518HF refresh rate with your GPU. This allows for a dynamic refresh rate that eliminates screen tearing and stuttering without significantly increasing input lag. For NVIDIA card users, the Dell AW2518HF is also available with G-SYNC instead of FreeSync technology. FreeSync also works seamlessly when using a compatible NVIDIA G-SYNC graphics card. The FreeSync range is between 48 and 240 Hz.8. On Screen Display: The OSD (On Screen Display) offers a variety of game features, including pre-calibrated picture presets (FPS, RTS, RPG) and three customizable game profiles. The OSD menu is easily navigated using the six OSD buttons at the bottom of the screen. As long as the menu is not open, four of these keys can be used as hotkeys for certain functions. You can assign them to any shortcut in the Personalization section. Other useful features include Dark Stabilizer and Game Enhance Mode - three features: screen timer, FPS counter and display orientation for multitasking.9. Ergonomic features: 130 mm height adjustment, 90 degree swivel, 20 degree left and right swivel, -5, 25 degree tilt and VESA 100 x 100 mount compatibility. Ultra-thin screen frame and sturdy metal stand to hide cables. Viewing angles are 170° vertically and 160° horizontally, which means that hues change when viewed from a certain angle, ie too far to the side or up/down.10. RGB LED: AlienFX RGB LEDs are located on the back of the monitor, allowing light to bounce off the wall for atmospheric lighting. Definitely recommend - great product with sleek looks and amazing performance. Brightness levels are ideal, reaching just over 400 nits with consistent and even brightness. The colors are also great for the *TN panel. * Twisted nematic. This is a type of LCD display (a type of LED panel).
