It's been years since I've worn enough makeup (or done it for other people) to justify investing in expensive "high quality" brushes like I used to . Also, I gave away most of my brushes a long time ago. But recently I decided to play with it again and I needed a very basic set of decent and affordable tools. After reading the reviews I decided on this brush set believing that I wouldn't have lost a lot of money if they weren't that good. But I can honestly say that I am VERY pleasantly surprised! The bristles are soft and well packed. The construction seems solid enough and the balance is good. And I especially like that the handles aren't too long or "clever". No one will confuse them with high quality brushes. For those who do a lot of super-detailed, sculpted, "glamorous" looks every day, this probably won't work. But these are still good, simple, inexpensive brushes that are perfect for me and my needs. I would recommend it to anyone who, like me, spends most of their time on "the basics". And they would be GREAT for beginners!
