Zoo Med Betta Bling Mermaid with Hoop: Bring a Touch of Underwater Magic to Your Betta Tank Review

Overall this is a nice item. It's not drawn very well and is smaller than I thought it would be. But my biggest complaint is that the suction cups don't work at all! I need to replace them before I can add them to my aquarium.

This is a good buy. I would buy another one as Sir William my Betta fish loves swimming through the ring. Only 4 stars though because the mermaid itself isn't pretty at all but great play and exercise for my Betta so I bought it.

My betta loves her mermaid and spends most of her time in a hoop. So far the suction cups are holding up very well and the colors have not faded. It also appears to be fairly resistant to algae. My rooster lost his favorite toy (latex lily) to seaweed because I could never clean it.

As a mermaid I love this product but was disappointed to see some paint chips came loose and floated in the water after a few days. I watched in horror as my cock sucked one in, but luckily he spat it out again. I washed it off before putting it in the aquarium, of course, but I think prolonged immersion in water has weakened the coating.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. From afar, the aquarium looks fine, but up close, her face appears to be covered in the blood of her enemies. For the first few days my fish was scared and tried to fight it. Then I ignored it for a few days. Now in a month or so it will be floating through him and dangling on or in the hoop. Once the fish gets used to the mermaid it works the way I wanted it to.

I liked it at first. Very cute and my betta loves to swim in her little hoop. However, over time (not very long) the paint has flaked off everywhere. I'm tempted to just scrape off the leftover paint and use it as the pure white/ivory paint that appears to be the base. I'm really worried about rooster fish color flakes. The suction cups (2) appear to be industrial strength and definitely will not fall off the aquarium wall.

My betta loves this little mermaid very much! He circles around her all the time. He sits on her head and levitates through her and/or just levitates in the ring. I bought him a new cymbal with new decor and didn't put it back in right away and he seemed a bit lost. As soon as I put them in his tank, he immediately swam up and became a happy fish. If I had read my review before buying I wouldn't have believed it, but it's true! haha

Be very careful and check this for sharp ends and edges that could rip your fins on your cock - mine had two razor sharp sections (I point to this in the attached photos) which will definitely rip any fins that get caught on it. I think you could write these points down, but for $10 you wouldn't have to do quality control and product disposal. The painting also has a few sloppy edges. Overall it's cute, unique and my little girl will love it in her new betta so I'll be back and trying again.

I feel excluded from giving a 1 star review but I have a good reason So I personally like the idea of this product. I also have a princess/pink tank theme so thought this would be perfect! Also, it's a Zoo Med product and I'm a real fan of their products. And now the worst. I ordered this mermaid to come with my tank. A few days later he is in front of my door (go!) I open it and for a long time I see this mermaid there. So I unwrap the bubble wrap and now I can finally touch the mermaid. And…
