I purchased this item on July 13, 2018, after four months my jaw broke off. I liked everything that was said in the review. These products are cheap, 100% plastic, in dollar stores. I hardly used it. The return policy is only 6 weeks, which is probably the longest product lifespan. My advice is don't buy it. Period!

Terrible product. There is no grip strength and the jaws are misaligned so there is no precision. The cutting blade is made of plastic. I didn't even have time to use them as the pull rod broke less than 5 minutes after unpacking. I wouldn't recommend it as there's nothing quite like paying for a complete piece of crap.

Plastic quality is very poor, design and length are desirable, but overall fit, finish and quality are poor. The cutter isn't even sharp, it's a blunt plastic blade that slides freely into the bypass. Won't cut even the softest plants. The price should be around $8 for something like this.

I wish I had read the customer reviews before reading them. I bought this locally because it met my deep tank needs - I haven't seen anything close to the length of this item. I wanted to share my feedback and disappointment with this item and see that all the other reviews say the same - no grip strength or locking mechanism. Cheap plastic that bends under pressure. In general they work but I feed them to my axolotls and I've had a lot of problems with them. You can't really tell from the standard photos, but one of the wire cutters on the end is shorter than the other, meaning you can't pick up anything from a flat surface. I have to use other, smaller tongs to hold what I want in the air to grab it with this tong and they don't work to re-grip your item on slate/bare ground (although they do in sand well working). deep enough to dig).
