Works great. Amazing signal strength. Highly recommended. Can this antenna be used to power multiple TVs? based. A digital TV signal is either good enough to decode or it is not. If it's 'No' then you have dropped frames, freezes and audio loss and finally no channel at all. You will not experience a drop in clarity due to signal degradation. The signal is transmitted in HD or SD format. It cannot be reduced by noise or isolation as was the case with analog signals. If the signal drops below the decode or receive threshold, you simply stop watching that channel. The signal quality is measured in dbi and SNR. dbi is a measure of performance. More expensive receivers can decode at slightly lower dbi levels. SNR is the signal to noise ratio. When there is little noise, the noise level is closer to or lower than the signal level, resulting in a lower SNR. Signals with a higher signal-to-noise ratio are decoded at lower dbi levels. Many factors affect signal strength, including distance from the transmitter, nearby obstacles (trees, hills, tall buildings), other signals bouncing off buildings that add or delete signals, and antenna height. , the quality of the antenna cable and the number of connections. Most noise is ambient, and there's little you can do to reduce it. Use good quality quad shielded cable so the antenna cable will not pick up interference from things in your own home such as B. electrical lines, Wi-Fi, power supplies and microwave ovens. Amplifiers make everything "louder", both the good signal and the noise. If it works without an amp, you don't need it. If the SNR is low, the amplifier doesn't help because the noise is still stronger than the signal. Every time you split a signal, you reduce it by 3dB. Cable connectors typically lose 2 dBi. If the overall signal quality is high enough, you can split it multiple times. Using a quality multi-way splitter is better than stacking several cheap two-way splitters on top of each other. Using a higher gain antenna gives you better initial signal strength, but higher gain antennas are also more directional. In the same direction or within 15 degrees of both directions, out-of-beam signals are less strong with this separately adjustable array antenna. I was able to use an old medium range UHF antenna to power four TVs with some leftover cable TV wiring. I replaced that antenna with this four stage butterfly after some elements were flown away during a storm.
