The last one we bought never shut off until you did. So I was a bit concerned that this one might not work as well when the maximum is one hour, but I was dead wrong. It works great in the boys bathroom and toilet and I can use it in the kitchen with food and water too! It's also such a large travel size. I am very happy that I ended up buying this particular one from the others I was looking at.
