After much deliberation I finally decided on this combination of USB hub and card reader and am very satisfied with the result. Right out of the box it feels good in your hand, even more so than you might expect, and down to the minute details (including the rubber feet to prevent slipping) the fit and finish are superb. This device was immediately recognized even by my now very old XP Pro computer and works perfectly. For those who don't know, you'll probably see it list a bunch of drive letters on the first plug-in, at least on an XP machine, but someday "erase" each one, as you should, from on any flash drive (pulling out an NTFS-formatted flash drive without warning is a particularly bad thingโข), they won't come back unless you actually reboot or unplug and reinsert the hub. However, it will still accept any flash drive you plug in, just like any active USB port. This is exactly the behavior you would like to see and I was very happy that it worked like this. appropriate distance between them. Obviously someone thought about the layout and designed it so that you can actually use more than one slot at a time without bumping your devices/ports against each other. This is particularly noticeable with the USB ports on the top, as as is often the case, flash drives are quite thick and placing the ports too close together can easily cause installation problems. and I don't know (so I won't) maybe swapping one of the 3 USB-A ports for a USB-C port would make the hub even more versatile. I don't currently have anything that requires a USB-C connector, but some newer flash drives are going down this route and that would be a good test for the future. Finally, since it is nowhere apparent from the product description, I would like to point out that a USB A (male) to USB Micro-B (also male) cable is included in case you wish to purchase something longer. Since I wanted to connect this to the tower I have under my desk, I opted for a separate 6ft USB 3.0 cable with the above specs and it worked great. For the money spent, I couldn't be happier with this device. It exceeded my expectations in every way and I will definitely buy it again if I need another one. Highly recommended!
