I have been using Dark Brown for a few years now. My hair is very thin and curly and I have damaged it badly from normal coloring. I have a lot of gray hair on my head and other reviews are correct in that the first application may not darken the roots very much. But if you use it once a month or so, the gray will gradually fade. Your hair should be very clean and damp when applying this product. It will take at least two hours for the paint to set and you may need to spray some water during that time. It is a messy application material and has a very earthy smell. I don't shampoo when I wash it off, but I do a deep conditioner afterwards. DO NOT wash hair within 48 hours of application, this product takes time to develop color. I wish I had "before" pictures of my hair because the changes were significant. It's now long, shiny and healthy and I will never use any other coloring products again!
