My original Dell charger started cracking and then broke into different pieces. While the wires inside were still sheathed, this created a dangerous situation. And I wouldn't attack if I wasn't in a dangerous position. So I needed a spare charger and decided on this one. Pros: It feels comfortable. Somehow the pleasant feeling of a plastic/PVC coating. It works - the laptop has no issues with the power cord and the charging time/quality seems the same. And the price was great. Arrived the next day too! Cons: The transformer part feels lighter which implies fewer windings and/or less copper inside. It also seems to heat up more when charging than the original charger. I keep it in an open, well-ventilated area, so this isn't a problem for me, but I could see how it would be for others.
