This style of clip-on foot has always been around. I rely on them to hold my thick long hair securely in a messy half pony/bun on my head. This medium size is perfect for that. Some companies make clamps that have so much space between the teeth, or the teeth are not long enough when closed (no overlap to grip) or have a large gap when closed that they are ineffective.
