This style of clip-on foot has always been around. I rely on them to hold my thick long hair securely in a messy half pony/bun on my head. This medium size is perfect for that. I had this set about 10 years ago and eventually all the springs were rusted and broken so I ordered this set to replace the old ones which I loved so much. It's horrible, my hair isn't that thick so I really don't need heavy clips to hold it. They don't even hold all my hair. The problem isn't so much the size of the clip as the 'teeth' aren't curved enough to grab my hair and secure it to my head. The clip just flops and does nothing, I'll keep checking for new clips.

As others have said the original goody clips are no longer available. The new ones seem cheap and have thinner and sharper pins. They hold the hair but are very painful to the scalp. I can't wear them for long. After using only goody clips for a lifetime I'm moving on to other brands. Two stars for working as a hair clip. One star deducted for the bad optics. Two stars deducted for pain.

Goody don't make these clips like they used to. Thinner plastic that breaks easily. The claws have longer plastic pieces than before, dig into my head a bit and break easily. I really like these clips. They keep my bangs out of my face while I'm showering or putting on makeup. I have thin hair, I wouldn't call it medium. They are small, if not tiny. They are strong enough to hold a bang, a strand of hair. Not all hair. braids maybe. I can't tie them in a knot and hope they hold. But one will hold the front of my hair. They are not very durable. I don't know what Goody changed about these hair clips but now they are awful. Over the past few years, I've been slowly shedding my old clips and finally decided to get new ones. The ones I have are way cheaper than the old ones. These are thinner, so much sharper, and they're actually a hassle to put in your hair because they scratch the scalp. Definitely not what I expected.

I have to say straight away that I really don't like writing bad reviews but I am so disappointed in these clips! They don't stay in the hair.
