Review on Kuryakyn 7564 Motorcycle Foot Control Component: Premium Gloss Black Mini Board Floorboards with Comfort Drop Mounts for 2001-2017 Honda Motorcycles - 1 Pair by Josh Kim

I bought this from Revain Deals with a couple of popular color chips. It was ok because I knew about them and they weren't visible during installation. What is wrong is that the manufacturer had the holes on the mounting adapter where the pin goes through as well as the slots on both the adapter and the mini board filled with paint. First, just to get the cotter pins through the adapter bracket, I had to drill the paint out of the holes. Second, as I later discovered, the paint on the splines caused the splines to not align securely when tightening the mounting screw. When I installed the boards I wondered why they didn't rotate at the same angle, but they felt snug and were close enough to get used to, so I pushed. The defect only showed itself when I was in the middle of nowhere and my board almost fell off. I felt it loosen and before I stopped about a mile away it was literally hanging by a thread. Luckily I have a tool kit and was able to tighten it enough to finish my day trip, which I had to do twice more that day. This part is made and sold specifically for my bike. Shame on Kuryakin for the fact that quality control has dropped to such a level. I don't even want to think about what would have happened to my foot if the board had fallen off while riding. I only raised my rating to 2 stars because the boards themselves were comfortable and just the right size for the Goldwing. If it weren't for the poor paint job and the problems it caused, I would have given it at least 4 if not 5 stars.
