Review on Gator Frameworks Desk Mounted Microphone GFWBCBM3000 by Roger King

Rubbish - More trouble than help

What absolute junk. I took the risk of buying it instead of the YellowTech Mika Arrow and regretted it within minutes of installing it. The spring-loaded lever tightens aggressively with no tension adjustment. When any of the three hinge knobs are loosened, the boom aggressively swings back to the fully extended position. To tighten an arrow in place, you must apply tremendous force (twisting your hand) to the point of pain so that it is held without movement. Because the three hinges are tightened so tightly to hold it in one position, it's impossible to take a boom or microphone and adjust it freely like you can with other professional booms. You have to loosen the knob, adjust the mic and fully tighten the stem again (wear gloves, tightening hurts!). Also, be careful and watch your face when you loosen one of the hinge knobs, it snaps aggressively even with a heavy mic attached. The supplied table mount is very cheap. If you screw his grip to a table with the power of the HULK, he'll still glide across the surface like he's laughing at you. This device needs a complete overhaul (possibly based on the real world). immediately repackaged and sent back as a return. It's time to spend hundreds more on YellowTech f that really works as it should in a professional environment.
