Placing these fans on the dashboard of a mid-size sedan is a bit awkward while driving, but even when moved to the right, they sit directly above the passenger. Airbag, unsafe idea. In cooler months I take out the box and fans. The fans work well, they're pretty powerful, but of course they make a high-pitched sound that doesn't bother when driving.
