The idea is good, but there is one major drawback: the pen itself is not waterproof and even resistant. As soon as it rains or the morning dew falls, the inscription expires. It needs to be outside as it is powered by solar energy, but for that reason it cannot be left overnight. I even tried taking it apart and (inverted) writing on the underside of the clear plastic. It worked for a while, but the condensate still got in and all the inscriptions were destroyed. If the manufacturer could construct this with two sheets of plexiglass that can be squeezed together to form a watertight compartment then it would be a fantastic product but so far it's only good for daytime use or perhaps in climates where there is no moisture or rain are. .
