I need a reliable Wi-Fi connection for my laptops. When internal adapters weren't always good enough, I bought an external USB adapter/antenna. And for even tougher conditions, the adapter/antenna can be extended with these cables. I don't think the cable itself has an antenna effect. However, being able to get 6 feet closer (or slightly higher) to the signal can sometimes be an important upgrade. And if you ever need to use your laptop in your car, it's important that you can extend the antenna up, out the window, and onto the roof. A minor downside is that they don't plug in - they unplug easily. So if you already have a strong signal, the extra cable length will only get in the way. 4.5 stars.
