Review on Powerbass OE69C FD Component Lincoln Replacement by David Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

F150 B&O factory speaker upgrade

I was skeptical about buying these, had never heard of this brand before and wasn't sure if they would be of high quality or not. I bought a couple of Alpine component speakers at the same time with the intention of replacing the stock speakers and was hoping one of them would work. If not, I'd return them both and try Kicker next. turned off, I was nervous that the Alpine speakers wouldn't be powerful enough with just a factory B&O amp. I hooked up Alpine and was (unsurprisingly) disappointed with their performance. There isn't much mid-bass and it was pretty quiet overall. The Ford B&O factory amp just doesn't have enough power per speaker channel to really bring these speakers to life. The next day I hooked up my Powerbass 6x9 speakers and was literally blown away. I had very little faith that these speakers would be anything special compared to the standard speakers, maybe a little louder and better materials. Good. let me tell you this; For aftermarket replacements, these are WORLDS out of stock. The mid-bass is very powerful for a stock amp (much stronger than Alpine). The sound is clear and not muddy. And it's not just the bass, the highs are also impressive on this tweeterless 6x9. Today I plugged in the driver side tweeter and left the stock passenger side tweeter to see if I could hear a difference. The Powerbass tweeter picked up sounds I didn't even know existed in songs compared to the standard tweeter. And the really high frequencies are much louder. I usually had to turn the car up to 12-14 (just over half full volume) to hear the singer/rapper well above the rest of the music when he was playing at 25%. Volume. Now, even at a lower volume, I can clearly hear all the voices/symbols in the songs. My final rating of these speakers is a simple 5/5 stars. In the future, I still think I will do a major upgrade of the whole audio system. These speakers are 85 watts RMS and may be able to run with a small amplifier powering them. I'll report back if that ever happens. But for now I would ABSOLUTELY recommend these speakers to anyone who just wants to replace the factory speakers (speakers only, no amps or anything) with a louder bass-heavy speaker. Powerbass, you really impressed me!
