I wanted this hat for my Halloween UFO costume (bonus, it also matched my shiny Dr. Martens)! It was soft (the varnish didn't scratch), but it took a little longer than I did. usually like it. I rolled the back a bit to reduce the baggy in the upper and everything was perfect. I would recommend it!
