These LED bulbs are slightly brighter than the old incandescent bulbs they replaced. with these pears it doesn't make sense. It can also be turned off. I don't really care because I almost never used the dimming setting with the old bulbs. But if you're curious, this is something you might be interested in. I assume they use less power than older bulbs, but the power consumption is already so small that it's basically irrelevant. I've only had them a few weeks so can't confirm durability but I expect they will last the rest of the life of the microwave unit they're installed in.
